Thursday, May 9: A Conversation with Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.

This Thursday, the IAAM and the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art will host lauded scholar Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. to discuss his new four-part PBS series, “Reconstruction: America After the Civil War.”

This event, which is free and open to the public, will include remarks by Dr. Gates, a conversation between Dr. Gates and IAAM Chief Curator Joy Bivins, a Q&A session, and book signings.

Join us this Thursday, May 9, from 7 PM to 9 PM at the College of Charleston’s Rita Liddy Hollings Science Center auditorium, located at 58 Coming Street, Charleston, SC 29424.
