Genealogy research has become immensely popular, with genealogy websites receiving over 100 million visits annually. The International African American Museum, recently opened in Charleston, South Carolina, seeks to pay tribute to previously uncelebrated narratives at a pivotal American historical location. This initiative includes delving into historical roots using genealogy. Geoff Bennett, co-anchor of PBS NewsHour, interviewed Malika N. Pryor, the Chief of Learning and Engagement at IAAM, and Darius Brown, a research assistant from the Center for Family History.
