Grand Opening Worship Service

International African American Museum’s Grand Opening festivities will begin with an opening worship service on Thursday, June 22, at Morris Brown AME Church. Beginning at 6:00 p.m., the multi-faith celebration of IAAM’s opening will help build community, reflect on the work that led up to the museum’s opening, and celebrate the long history of the African American people and their culture, which is woven into the fabric of the museum.

Parking for this event will be available at the Visitor’s Center Parking Garage, located at 375 Meeting Street, or metered parking on King & St. Phillip’s Street.

Who: Speakers include Dr. Tonya Matthews (president and CEO of IAAM), Rev. Dr. Howard John Wesley, Bishop Samuel Green, the Rev. DeMett Jenkins (director of education and engagement for faith-based communities), among others
