The program will provide opportunities for educational learning about ancestral songs, its styles, meaning its history and purpose. The audience will hear and learn the about the songs sung by our ancestors and prevalent today. These songs are heard all over the Gullah Geechee Corridor and possibly around the world. Presenters will demonstrate the style of singing and provide historical context of the lyrics and movement. Today’s gathering is about awakening the ancestors through music! We have brought the lowcounty to the Midlands. You will hear songs that are familiar with GULLAH GEECHEE Culture throughout the Lowcountry Corridor- SC, NC, GA and FL!
