Finding the untold stories and histories of African American families is a powerful and rewarding experience. Finding our family stories and understanding African American family links stretching back centuries in North America – understanding how long our families have been part of the American experience – is empowering.
The fact that African American history is a history of trauma shouldn’t be a barrier to exploring African American family history. This is part of Adrienne Fikes message in this short video.
