“IAAM History” buttons are now available!

We understand that the process of building a museum from the ground up is a long one that doesn’t lend itself to a lot of visual outputs. That is to say, you can’t SEE the magic that’s happening behind the scenes. With that in mind, we worked with North Charleston-based consultation group Charleston Sticks Together to create some products speak to the heart of who we are looking to be as an institution.

At the MOJA Heritage Festival, we released a series of “IAAM History” buttons that highlight historical figures in African American history. There are three different buttons: an IAAM logo button, one highlighting African American women, and one that represents African Americans from Charleston that fought for the advancement of their people. The good news? These buttons were given away for free and they will continue to be given away (until supplies last)!

Just find us out at a community event and pick some up. All we ask is that when you take a picture, please tag your images with the #IAAMCharleston hashtag so we can see how good you look while representing your International African American Museum.

Can you name each person?

IAAM History Women
