As a friend of the International African American Museum, I recognize the profound struggles and obstacles faced by African Americans in gaining the right to vote in our nation. I know that it took decades of fighting to get rid of the poll taxes, the literacy tests, and the many other tactics used to keep African Americans from the polls. And I know that those voting rights remain under attack today.

I know that voting is more than just my right – it is my responsibility. And I pledge to make my voice heard in the voting booth on Election Day.
