Sarah Raffurty joined the International African American Museum team in 2019 as the Membership Manager. She is honored to contribute her talents and passions to such an impactful organization.
Prior to the IAAM, Sarah was the Coordinator of Development Services at Powell Gardens near Kansas City, Missouri, where she was instrumental in rebranding their membership program.
A Cottey College alumna, Sarah finished her B.A. from Purdue University in History with a focus on Women and Gender Studies. She received her M.A. in Museum Studies from Syracuse University. Sarah has been honored to work for a diverse array of institutes such as the Smithsonian National Postal Museum in Washington DC, the Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse, NY, and the Bellamy Mansion Museum in Wilmington, NC. Sarah looks forward to sharing her passion for history and culture with the IAAM and the Greater Charleston community.
