SAVE THE DATES: International African American Museum To “Celebrate a Century of Black Beauty” in its Second Anniversary

Charleston, S.C. – The International African American Museum (IAAM) is excited to announce its major programming and special fundraising event for its second anniversary in June 2025; marking two years of honoring and telling the untold stories, cultures, and impact of the African American journey. To commemorate this milestone, IAAM is also delighted to unveil the theme for its annual fundraising gala, the Jubilee Soiree: “Celebrating a Century of Black Beauty.”

The Jubilee Soiree, IAAM’s signature fundraising event, will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025. This year’s theme will be a vibrant and elegant affair, showcasing the multifaceted expressions of Black Beauty throughout the past century. From iconic figures and cultural movements to contemporary artistry and individual narratives, the soiree will be a powerful tribute to the enduring legacy and evolving definition of Black Beauty from 1925 to 2025.

Proceeds from the Jubilee Soiree will directly support IAAM’s ongoing and future exhibitions, educational programs, and community outreach efforts, ensuring that the museum continues to serve as a vital resource for generations to come.

Jubilee Soiree single tickets will go on pre-sale for IAAM Museum Circle members starting Thursday, April 24, and for IAAM Annual members starting Thursday, May 1. Any questions from members regarding pre-sale Jubilee Soiree tickets can contact our membership department at [email protected].

The museum’s upcoming second anniversary will be a testament to the unwavering support of its members, donors, the Charleston community, the state of South Carolina, the United States, and around the world.

This program will explore the ways Black artists and cultural producers have shaped narratives of identity, resisted systemic erasure, and redefined Blackness through art, music, and movement.
