This month, Family Tree Magazine announced the release of their 101 Best Websites for Genealogy, updated and revised for 2021. The Center for Family History was named one of the “Best African American Geneology Sites” for 2021 by the Family Tree team.
“With the online genealogy world constantly changing, it can be hard to keep up with what websites and tools are the most useful,” said Family Tree Magazine Editor Andrew Koch. “That’s why our list focuses on the best of the best—the websites that will make the best use of your time and money.”
The 101 Best Websites for Genealogy list is compiled by Family Tree Magazine editors along with founding editor David A. Fryxell. The list covers a wide variety of websites and online tools for genealogy research, including websites for building family trees, finding records, exploring DNA, documenting gravesites and preserving family stories. Each entry includes the site’s name and URL, plus a summary of what makes the site great for family history researchers.
“The Center for Family History supports the museum’s goal of becoming a unique center of learning through the development of resources and programs to help individuals and families advance their understanding of their family’s history. Our listing this year speaks to the power of technology in helping families understand the role their ancestors played in shaping American history,” said Toni Carrier, director of the Center for Family at the International African American Museum.
You can find the new list by visiting https://www.familytreemagazine.com/best-genealogy-websites/
The list will appear in the July/August 2021 issue of Family Tree Magazine, which ships to magazine subscribers in June and will be available on newsstands on June 22.
