Join us at the International African American Museum (IAAM) for IAAM King: A Day of Service, the official post-MLK Day parade gathering. Hosted in collaboration with the YWCA Greater Charleston and Charleston Promise Neighborhood, this powerful program invites the community to gather in the Museum’s African Ancestors Memorial Garden to reflect on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s enduring commitment to service, justice, and equality.

With complimentary admission all day, we honor the strength of our shared history and the dream of a brighter, more just future. Experience moving performances by DJ Rubin, the Center for Learning Inc.’s Youth Choir, a soul-stirring performance by Princess of Soul, Tia DuRant, and more! As you explore the Museum’s exhibitions, you’ll connect with stories of resilience and the ongoing fight for justice. Outside, enjoy local vendors, food trucks, and youth-friendly activities that bring our community together.
