Getting Started with Lowcountry Genealogy – Seminar

Lowcountry genealogy research refers to the process of tracing one’s family history in the Lowcountry region of the southeastern United States. This region includes the coastal areas of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. This session is for those interested in getting started with Lowcountry genealogy research. Panelists: Taneya Koonce, Genealogist, Executive Member of Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society; Vicki McGill, Genealogist, Instructor for the Midwest African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI); Toni Carrier, Director of CFH, Lowcountry Africana; and Tendaji Bailey, Program Coordinator, Gullah Geechee Cultural Heritage Corridor.

A seminar with Taneya Koonce, Deputy Director of the Center for Knowledge Management at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Vicki McGill, Professional Genealogist and Instructor at the Midwest African American Genealogy Institute (MAAGI), and Toni Carrier, Director of IAAM’s Center for Family History.
