If you would like to share a story about this ancestor, please type as little or as much as you like in this box. : Vilmont Schexnayder was enlisted in the United States Colored Troop 81st regiment. Prior, he was enslaved by George Roussel and then by his son Louis Amedee Roussel. After the War of Rebellion, Vilmont return to Patterson Louisiana and sharecropped on the same property that had enslaved him. He and his wife Julianne had at least 14 children.
