Patterson, R.O. Obituary 1896 Raleigh NC

Death of Mr. R. O. Patterson. The news reached here Sunday of the sudden death of Mr. R. O. Patterson, Chairman of the Republican Campaign Committee, at his home in Asheville, Sunday morning. Mr. Patterson died of heart failure, and was found dead in a bath-tub, where he was taking a bath, after a trip in the country. He was about 43 years old. He was a leader in his party, and had the confidence of his political associates. He was clerk of the Federal Court under Judge Dick.
