CFH Reference Library:

Our African American-focused Reference Library provides research resources for genealogists, family historians, historians, academics, historical researchers, and students. It is located in the Blackbaud Gathering Place area in the Center for Family History (CFH).

Whether you are beginning your ancestry journey – or your research is well under way – our Reference Library has documents and books to help with your African American research!

The Blackbaud Gathering Area is a dedicated space for CFH patrons to conduct their research. Volunteers will be able to provide assistance, general help, and answer any questions.

The following steps will help provide a smooth experience.

Supporting IAAM Supports the Center for Family History

The Center for Family History is a one-of-a-kind resource that’s home to a robust collection of photos, records, archival tools, and the largest collection of United States Colored Troop records outside of the National Archives. By supporting the International African American Museum, you help ensure that every story can be told, including those uncovered by the Center for Family History. Together, with your help, we will reconnect people with their history—and secure it for generations to come.
